Your volleyball team can consist of a maximum of 12 players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The players on your team all wear the same outfit (with the exception of the libero who must wear a different color shirt). Your clothing consists of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a shirt with a number, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>shorts, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sports shoes. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can choose to use knee pads or not. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure to remove items that could cause injuries (such as jewelry) before the game.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the players on your team is the captain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The captain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>is responsible for the behavior of all players on your team, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>represents your team at the toss, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>signs the game form before and after the game, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>may ask for an explanation of decisions made by the referees from the first referee, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>may request timeouts and player substitutions if the coach is not present. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you want a more detailed explanation of the captain&#8217;s duties? <br><a href=\"https:\/\/sovicos.nl\/en\/important-role-as-a-teamcaptain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here for more information on the duties of a captain.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Coach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>is responsible for the behavior of all players on the team, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>leads the team&#8217;s game from the sidelines, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>requests timeouts and player substitutions. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Coaching games<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to delve a little deeper into coaching games, read a short guide below prepared by <a href=\"http:\/\/volleybalopleidingen.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">volleybalopleidingen.nl<\/a> (Dutch). At higher levels, there are two referees: the first and second referees. The referee:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>checks the quality of the playing area and the game balls before the game, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>conducts the toss, with both captains present, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>checks if the entered players match the players on the court, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>leads the game, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>checks and signs the game form last after the game. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We previously wrote a blog with <a href=\"https:\/\/sovicos.nl\/en\/news\/hand-gestures-for-referees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the hand gestures of a referee<\/a>.
